Let's Take Our Own Body Measurements

Here are 4 indispensable measurements showing in the pictures for the dress making.

Bust- Not your bra size! Take the tape around your back and bring it across the fullest part of your bust. Your arms should be relaxed, down at your sides. You must wear a bra when taking this measurement.

Waist- This is the smallest part of your waist. Typically it`s an inch or so above your belly button. Also known as the natural waistline.

Hips- This is the widest part of your hips, across the hipbone. Measurement is taken approximately 7 inches below the natural waistline. This measurement is not needed for full gowns.

Hollow to Hem- This is the length from your hollow ( the hollow just under your neck ) to your heels. (Take the tape from your front, with bare foot ). You should stand upright and your feet should keep together.

1. Full bust-around bust at the fullest point.

2. Waist-around waist at the smallest point.

3. Hips-around hips at fullest point,taking note of how far down from the waist that you are measuring.Usually,it's 8 incheds dwon form waist.

4. Upper bust-Measure above your breasts in the same manner as you measured across them.

5. Under bust-Measure under your breasts in the same manner as you measuren over them.

6. Nipple to nipple-bust point to bust point.

7. Length of shoulder to bust-from the top of your shoulder dwon to busr point(nipple).

8. Front length shoulder to waist-remmber that ponit on your shoulder.well use that again and measure from there OVER your bust straight down to your waist at the smallest ponit.

9. Out leg-from wait to fllor with your shoes on.

10. Armeye-this measurement gives us the size of the sleeves hole that you are comfortable wearing.

11. Shoulder to shoulder-Now from the adge of that shoulder socket,measure all the way over to the same ponit on the shoulder along the back.

12. Neck around-around neck loosely.You willnot need this one unless your garment has high neck and or collar.

13. Arm length-shouler point to wrist arm bent.

14. Bicep-around arm at the fullest part of upper arm.

15. Upper arm length- Measure from outer shoulder down to elbow.

16. Length of armpit to elbow-measure from armpit to elblow.
